The “what”
I offer workshops, tailored strategy plans, and resources around issues of burnout for helping and healing professions. Got a group that deals with a lot of secondary trauma risk? Have a team that’s starting to show signs of strain, stress, and depletion that’s headed for a cataclysmic crash down the road? I’m your gal.
The “why”
Work and jobs that care for our community, work to prevent suffering, fight to change oppressive systems, and tend to our most vulnerable is so important and needed, and yet there’s not much built in place in these work systems that takes care of the workers and makes their job more sustainable. I want to help shape these systems more towards care for ALL involved, not just those they serve.
The “how”
I bring a mental health care lens to systems of work, especially within the helping and healing roles and spheres. I’ve got hefty training in trauma and secondary trauma (aka the impacts we receive by being constantly exposed to others going through trauma), and have a holistic perspective with my body-based knowledge too. I do this work from personal experience with burnout, in collaboration with your expertise and specific needs, and with a lot of heart and compassion.
Examples of offerings I’ve done in the past:
- A 3 hour workshop for the county’s school counselors on burnout 101
- A 1 hour presentation and collaboration with a room of mental health therapists from across NC
- Built a relationship over several months and tailored 3 half-day intensives for a local non-profit team based on their specific needs and strengths
A note on costs: Giving hard numbers for this work is near-impossible because it’s really a collaboration between what you’re needing, what you’re able to commit to this financially, and what I need to feel valued for the work. I also take into consideration cultural and marginalization factors for the team and the team’s work when assessing appropriate pricing for these services, wanting to prioritize and remove financial hardship for under-resourced and exploited communities and groups.
